Emergency crews are responding to an active forest fire in the area of Funston Road and Old Mill Creek in Winnabow, according to a news release from Brunswick County.

This is an evolving event and conditions are subject to change.

Brunswick County is in southeastern North Carolina and borders Pender and New Hanover counties in North Carolina. It also borders Horry County in South Carolina.
